Long mornings work for Haugaard Hereford beef farm right next to SCS - preparing the stables for the cows to come back inside later this autumn.

Very happy to teach this semester as guest professor at one of China’s most upcoming cities of Chengdu at the @ccaa_cdu

I’ll be leading a class for masters students specifically tailored towards preparing for orchestral auditions over the next 15 weeks.

In this special covid-time a new age collaboration is going to start with all lessons taking place from Scandinavian Cello School on line to the CCAA international students dotted around the world !

Happy to start this collaboration and bring some of our proven successful SCS orchestral preparation techniques to the other side of the planet 🥳💪🏻🥰

It’s going to be a weekend of great food and relaxation for these guests to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary - with all the proceeds going to support SCS, the musicians who visit here, and our mission!

Amazing days here at Scandinavian Cello School, fully opened again for academic year 2020/21.

This week alone, 7 students from Brazil, Scotland, Austria, Spain, Germany, Sweden and England plus a visit from the fantastic Professor Matias Oliveira de Pinto.

Work goes on with our mission to become mainly self-sufficient with successful fishing trips, harvesting the vegetables/fruit, planting new crops and preparing our new field!

Extremely grateful to be sponsored by Haugaard Hereford beef (the field next door) for some unbelievably high quality meals and an addition on our “regular” menu choices of the neighbours excellently hunted birds, our fish, etc....!

Come and visit us, no application fee and no fixed dates - just book your stay whenever suits you, at our webpage. We accept all musicians and artists for mini-residencies and as always tuition is free of charge for cellists.

Dearest cellists and Scandinavian Cello School followers, I’m so happy that we will have a fabulous guest professor - Professor Matias de Oliveira Pinto @matiascello (Münster / Berlin) - with us for the next few days at SCS. He has had a fascinating and eclectic career, arriving in Europe from São Paulo with a scholarship from Herbert Von Karajan foundation and played concerts all over the world.

Especially dedicated to working with young musicians for many years - he will be teaching two of our SCS cellists @finn.mannion / @tarascello and for you all he is going to be having an interview live on Facebook / Instagram this Saturday (05.09) with me. Everyone can join in, ask questions, and hear more about his thoughts on cello, music and life!

Delighted to announce that Scandinavian Cello School is now FULLY OPEN again for mini-retreats! 🎻❤️🏳️‍🌈❤️🇩🇰

Located one hour from Copenhagen airport near to the UNESCO heritage site of Stevns Klint - we now welcome ALL musicians and artists (not “just” cellists!) 🎼🎹🎺🎷🪕🎨

New concept for 2020/21:
✅ No fixed dates for residencies (you decide when and for how long you want to come)
✅ You can visit alone, come with your colleagues or friends, or even take your chamber group
✅ Possibility to arrange house concerts/performance opportunities in the local area (if you need to run a program through before concerts, auditions or competitions)
✅ Opportunity to book the fantastic @juliaseverinsen for your new photos on location at SCS and in the beautiful area of Stevns at a special SCS price
✅ Opportunity to arrange “career boost” sessions and have help on your future plans, personal projects, applications, funding research, etc.

As always at SCS
✅ Tuition is free but not obligatory (you can always come and work on your own towards your projects)
✅ Full board and lodging with 85% of products that are home fished/hunted/grown or local and organic.
✅ All residencies are supported by SCS - you only pay a small contribution towards living costs

What a truly amazing night - almost 200 at the harbour for our first ever SCS Landsbykoncerter (village concerts), raising money for the restoration of Lund Harbour.

Fabulous music from @livestrings / @nicokorner - and a wonderful atmosphere and collaboration with the locals to make the evening a huge success !

Tomorrow night the first ever SCS Landsbykoncerter

Tomorrow night the first ever SCS Landsbykoncerter (village concert) will take place at this amazing harbour in Lund, located just a kilometre from us at SCS.

We hope to raise as much money as possible for the much needed renovation of this special place - which is an integral part of SCS, where our residents fish, swim, relax and meet the locals.

Super music played by renowned @livestrings (who have shared the stage with artists such as Eminem, Bent Fabricius Bjerre and Lukas Graham), tasty treats will be there to try and buy from @stevnsandelsbryggeri @kasperbrewco and Jens Hansen and with tickets only 100 kr it is going to be a fab evening. ❤️🎻🥳

What a superb season this has been for SCS cellist

What a superb season this has been for SCS cellist Finn Mannion @finn.mannion (18 years old) from Scotland - after winning both the prestigious Julius Isserlis Prize and the Beatrice Huntington Award, he is now jumping in for gold medal Tchaikovsky winner and cello superstar Narek Hakhnazaryan on the 15th August at a concert in Italy. 😎🥰👍🏻

Congrats Finn and we are looking forward to having you back to Stevns in September for our young artist program including a masterclass with @matiascello ! 🇩🇰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Det er præcis 2 år siden Scandinavian Cello School ankom til Stevns. Det glæder vi os til at fejre med jer og disse dejlige musikere, og i fællesskab indsamle penge til smukke Lund Havn.

Live Strings er en gruppe vidunderlige klassiske musikere, der samarbejder bredt med kunstnere som Eminem, Lukas Graham og Bent Fabricius Bjerre og derfor også breder sig ud i bl.a. pop, rock og folk.

I samarbejdet med The Ardeal Project har de et spændende varieret program, som alle kan få glæde af i den smukke lille havn i Lund!

Koncerten starter klokken 19.30, og der er mulighed for at købe en øl frisk fra fad fra klokken 19. På Lund Havn kan man parkere bilen.

100% af billetsalget går til Lund Havn.

To mark the 2nd anniversary of our (worlds first ever) permanent cello center and retreat in Stevns we invited the upcoming young Novo Quartet @novoquartet to perform for a “young artists platform” house concert.

Lovely to share the stage with them - and on a personal note having known some of the quartet for almost 10 years - fantastic to see their talent blossom into individual, serious musicians.

It goes to show that steady training, development and hard work over many years with the right support and nurturing is all worth it and we are happy to support them through SCS. Watch this space ❤️

Welcome back soon Novo Quartet - and tune in Monday evening on Danish Radio P2 to hear these fab young string players playing live.

Happy to return once again to this beautiful church in the ex-capital city of Roskilde for a solo recital this afternoon. Special memories as this church was where I had one of my first professional concerts in Denmark many years ago.... (and Elise was born 5 min away)
