Musik | Arion Piano Trio – Scandinavian Cello School
Program | Beethoven, Bloch, Haydn & Shostakovich
Arion – visionary, singer and poet of ancient Greece – inspired Johanna Müller, Oliwia Meiser and Daria Tudor in their chamber music project. Having travelled as far and having received as many awards as their antique example, the instrumentalists from Germany, Poland and Romania were drawn to the Berlin University of the Arts – the magnet for musicians from all over the world.
Their musical endeavour started in early 2020 and developed throughout the next months despite the hardships that struck the artistic and global community during that period of time. By the end of 2021 the trio had been acclaimed by numerous foundations and institutions. They are the winners of the Szczecin Classic Ensemble in Residence Award and were invited as such to participate in the 2021 edition of the Szczecin Classic Academy. They are third prize winners of the Alice Samter Wettbewerb, semifinalists of Deutscher Musikwettbewerb, Schumann Chamber-Music Award 2022 and award recipients of the Mendelssohn Hochschulwettbewerb.
Individually the musicians are nationally and internationally acclaimed, they have already performed as soloists and chamber musicians in the Berlin Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Musikverein Wien and the Mendelssohn House in Leipzig and have been performing at festivals such as the Art of the Piano Festival – Ohio, Rheingau Music Festival, Merano Music Festival, the Mozart Festival Würzburg and the Crescendo Music festival of the UdK Berlin.
